Geringhoff Horizon Star* II

The horizontal chopper is located in the front area to the side of the picking row. This optimised position means that the plant is cut off very close to the ground at full speed, leaving a particularly short stubble which no longer provides sufficient habitat for pests.

Residue Management

Excellent straw spreading quality. Excellent chopping quality. Extremely short, uniform corn stubble.

Intake

• Enclosed twin bearings at the front for particularly safe operation.
• Carbide auger flights are hardened scrapers ensure a long service life and superior reliability.

Cutting Rotor

• 15 self-sharpening and special coated rotary knives offering a long service life for constantly high work quality.
• The active cutting system rotates against the feed direction.

Stalk Rollers

• Working edges with special hard material coating for long service life.
  
  

Horizontal Chopper

• Integrated chopper gearbox made of an aluminium/magnesium alloy using Zerol-splined bevel gears for maximum and perfect transmission of torque.
• The friction clutch integrated in the knife carrier protects the row unity from overload.

Chopper Knives

• Double-sided blades provide twice the service life as other systems.
• The blades are carbide coated for long service life.
• The knife mounting bolts are protected from damage by protective caps.
  
  

Gear Connection

• The spline shaft transmitting the drive from the gearbox to the rotors provides an easy-use push-pull connection.
• Labyrinth seals protect the system from debris and dirt.
  
  

Row Unity Gearbox

• The lightweight gearbox housing is made from aluminium/magnesium alloy.
• The integrated, maintenance-free slip clutch protects the snapping rolls from overload.
